Renewable Heat Now Lobbypalooza

Thursday, January 13th, 6:30-8pm

RSVP for the Zoom link here | Facebook event

Join us in fighting the climate crisis by getting fossil fuels out of New York’s buildings once and for all!

Burning fossil fuels in buildings for heating, cooking, and hot water causes 1/3rd of NY’s emissions. This legislative session, we and the rest of the Renewable Heat Now coalition are organizing and lobbying for a legislative package that will ban fossil fuels in new buildings and fund a massive buildout of renewable heat!

Want to join the fight? Sign up for a Renewable Heat Now regional lobby team here: bit.ly/RHNteams

Join Renewable Heat Now for this fun, virtual organizing meeting to learn more about our legislative package, learn how to meet with your local elected officials and win their support, and strategize with other lobby teams!

If you’ve never lobbied before, don’t worry – it’s easy! Your representatives work for you, and the more constituents they see supporting a policy, the more likely they are to support it too.

To get ahead of the game and learn more about the Renewable Heat Now Legislative Package for getting fossil fuels out of buildings and funding the transition, see all the details here.

Are you concerned about the climate crisis but wondering how you can make a difference? Well, we have ideas!

Let’s ring in the New Year with hope and determination. We owe it to ourselves, our children and the future of this gorgeous planet.

Please join our Sierra Club Niagara Group for monthly Information Sessions designed to inform our members and inspire action.

Our core group of active Niagara Group members have some amazing past accomplishments, including solar on the rooftops of Buffalo Public Schools and the NFTA purchase of electric buses. Won’t you join us to see what 2022 can bring and how you can take part?

To kick start our new series of Information Sessions, on January 19th, we will have Roger Downs, Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter, Conservation Director. Roger has represented us in Albany for over ten years. He is well-versed in our State’s legislative and regulatory landscape.

Register for the Session with Roger Downs Here.

Roger will speak on the State’s environmental outlook for 2022, including Governor Hochul’s budget and our Chapter’s legislative goals for 2022. This is a great opportunity to learn about the exciting legislative initiatives Sierra Club will be supporting, ask questions, and become active in New York’s environmental and energy agenda.

We look forward to kicking off the New Year with you!
