DEC extends comment period on SGEIS on Hydrofracking

On November 30, the DEC announced that it would extend the comment period on its Marcellus Shale draft SGEIS for an additional month until January 11, 2012. This decision came in response from numerous environmental organizations and others requesting more time to review the 1000+ page draft Environmental Impact Statement. Visit our recent site stopdrillinggoclean.org today, to learn more about the dangers of hydrofracking, its negative economic impacts on local real estate and communities, renewable energy alternatives, and to submit comments to the DEC. If you think all citizen’s water should be protected, take action today! Please share this link with others — we only one month until comments are due — January 11, 2012!
